WHAT: Contributed to microfactory automation at Modica, a startup revolutionizing modular manufacturing.
HOW: Optimized 3D printing, modeled in SolidWorks, and organized the shop.
GOAL: Gain hands-on experience in engineering and prototyping.
WHAT IS MODICA?
Modica was a Seattle-based startup transforming factory automation by creating modular, self-contained microfactories inside shipping containers. These compact, scalable systems allowed for flexible, location-independent manufacturing.
WHAT WAS MY ROLE?
As a interdisciplinary problem-solver, I played a critical role in filling in any of the needed roles for Modica's smooth operation. In a fast-paced, resource-constrained startup, I stepped into many roles to keep projects moving forward.
Key Contributions:
Daytime run of a final component.
3D model I created in SolidWorks.
